Minutes meetings with Chinese NEA and NRIC
In April the I-REC Standard board and Secretary General concluded a study trip in China to meet with the Chinese National Energy Administration as well as the National Renewable Energy Engineering Information Management Center (NRIC).
The goal of the meetings was to better understand the future of renewable procurement policy in China, its effect on the I-REC Standard market and the role of the future local issuer in China. During the meetings the NRIC expressed an interest in taking on the role of local issuer of I-RECs in China. As the NRIC falls under the authority of the National Energy Administration the appointment is inline with the mission of the I-REC Standard and supported by both the board and associated stakeholders.
